Mother of Five Struck by Vehicle in Toronto Dies Over a Month After Collision

A Toronto mother, who was critically injured in a vehicle collision alongside her husband and three children in early October, has succumbed to her injuries, police confirmed Thursday.

The tragic incident occurred on October 2 at the intersection of Islington Avenue and Finchley Road. The 39-year-old mother, her 42-year-old husband, and their three children—two girls aged four and one, and a one-month-old boy—were struck by a red 2017 Toyota Corolla while crossing within a marked crosswalk.

The vehicle, driven by a 77-year-old woman, hit the family during a left-hand turn. Paramedics reported that the mother sustained critical, life-threatening injuries, while the father and children suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Despite the driver’s cooperation at the scene, the collision has now claimed the life of the mother, intensifying the tragedy for the family.

Toronto Police continue to investigate the collision as the community mourns the devastating loss.
